I can't find the thread right now, but this same cross or one similar was discussed not too long ago. It's a standard ring repair of the period, and not worth any more than any other EKII. I doubt very much that it's a Godet.

That guys an idiot! A repaired cross as rare. Rare in how it was repaired thats about it. Where does he get the figure of only 10 known to have this feature?

I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes, like I did with Doug See, (sorry Doug).

I have seen some questionable stuff come from this Karl Hipp guy.

I saw a Stepped Top Crosses go for about $100 a few months ago on Ebay... Not all that rare...

Why did he call it Klass instead of class. He has a 1st class 57 EK1 and it is labeled Class like it should be. Just kind of weird, I too have seen some questionable things and some very expensive things come from "HippKarl" .

My toes are keeping out of the way. The seller is, at best, dreaming. I have one I'll sell HIM for only $400. I wonder where the other 8 are? Probably in the82nd's collection.

Should someone tell the bidder they are wasting their money?

I just sent them a simple note with a link to the previous "rarer than rare" EK that they had on eBay. It might not hurt if anybody else wants to jump in there and sent them a note so that it doesn't look like a rival bidder trying to undercut them...

$150 Buy-it-Now for a "ORIGINAL GERMAN PILOT'S IRON CROSS 2ND CLASS. MINT MINT MINT". Spells it Klass and class in the same listing.

Still trying to find the devices: "
ITEM IS 100% ORIGINAL WITH FINE DEVICES."

Odd is the operative word here, my friends.
