Hi Jens, something Turkish hangs there. Goltz was also a "Pascha"

        "Can a General fail?"

Not in my experience.... Every rank below him can fail, but not the General.

Mike, of course You are right. The General never fails.

But his Servant did not properly decorate him for the photoshooting.

          What is not correct here?

          Best regards

              Hi Daniel,

RAO Grand Cross plus RAO First Class? Shouldn´t he wear just the GC? I am not sure.

if i rememebr right, the sash (don't know if right or lefthand) should be worn over the medal bar and not the medal bar over the sash.

The sash should be worn over the other side, and therefore can't cover the medals...

                      Sash is right,
both RAOs are right. He had the 1st class with oakleaves, swords on the ring and crown, because of the crown he could wear it together with the RAO grand cross.

Have a look for the Hohenzollern star; which class it represents? Sure it belongs there?

                          Ja no swords!

But sure that a COMMANDERS star (6 pointed) belongs on this side?

Out of the point; Is this The Von Der Goltz who led the Ost-See division to Finland during our war of independence in 1918?

Hi Blitz, that was LtGen RÜDIGER Graf v.d.Goltz, born 1865, died 1946,
Our v.d.Goltz here is COLMAR WILHELM LEOPOLD Freiherr v.d.Goltz, 1843-1916.

Over the centuries there were all together 33 Generals v.d.Goltz in the Prussian Army.
