    imperial naval pilot badge

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ory=13965&rd=1

    Hello,
may I ask what your opinion on this badge is?
Does anyone have made transaction with this dealer?

    There is an original badge...

.... shown on Detlev Niemann's website today. It came with a document & photo album. Despite the fact that Detlev's badge is hallmarked for Meybauer, compare the front of his, to the one shown in the auction....

      Hello,
the one that Mr. Niemann has sold is a Seeflieger badge and the one on Ebay is a badge for Landflieger. Apart from that, the wings of the eagle on the Seeflieger are smaller then the Landflieger. The crown is open on the Seeflieger and closed on the Landflieger. The needle and hinge are of a different type also.

So, I would apperciate some opinions on the Landflieger badge. Thank you.

      Regards,
      Wolfpack

... the one on Ebay is marked Shaper, not Maybauer. I have always had my reservations about any Naval flying badges without the arches of the crown cut out. But I have never been able to determine what is what, and the H. SHAPER mark on this one looks perfectly legitimate.

This guy has been selling Imperial badges on eBay for a long time. He is supposed to be parting out a collection that he acquired. Has anyone else wondered just how big this collection is? Dang! Must've been the biggest collection in the world, 'cause the badges just keep coming and coming. I haven't been monitoring eBay for the last six months, and bam! here he is again.

Reminds me of Troy. I would really like to crack the pipeline that these Oregon guys seem to have. If you look at it in a pragmatic sense it is a sweet setup.

          Tim,

Stick with the cut out crowns for naval AND Bavarian.
