What was the Württemberg Verdienstkreuz mit Schwertern awarded for? Was it an officer or other ranks only award? Was it a combat decoration?

Hi Mike,

The Verdienstkreuz with X was a typical senior NCO award and mostly awarded for merits rather than for bravery.
