    Tank badge WWI

    Dear fellow collectors,

Lately I have two dealers selling the above-mentioned item with the same maker. Is this badge a genuine one, may a piece which was produced later in the 30s? What I like most in this particular badge is the pin construction and the how the material is coming through the picture. What I don't like too much is the lack of detail and the fact that isn't marked Juncker. Is this maker known to have made these WWI tank badges? I am just curious, here the pictures:

Thank you in advance for your comments.

    Ciao,

    Claudio

For me, life is very simple. There were supposedly 99 of these awarded. There were, by my last count, 6,012,567 of these currently on offer for sale.

I don't like those odds, at all. Having yet to see a demonstrable, documented original, I have yet to find ONE I would put in my collection.

A while back, François posted some scans of an Army Airship Badge for Kai Winckler. This is another similarly massively faked piece, and--until then--I had yet to see a "benchmark" to measure any against. In this case, not only was an award document present, it was part of a large group--including multiple photographs of the original owner wearing what was demonstrably the badge in question.

Until such a "virgin" untouched and photo documented 1918 tank badge group comes along, I wouldn't, personally, touch ANY of them. There is far too much wonderful still-don't-have original Imperial stuff out there for me to give a second thought to items like this.

I'm not sure, but the center design looks like the the neighbor kids crashing into my rose bushes with their skateboard (overhead, three angels with pea shooters?). Anyway, take Rick's advice and save your pennies for an absolutely, positively double-documented example.

        Hi Claudio,

please leave it where it is.
Even the makers mark is wrong. I´ve seen a lot of glaser and son marks, but Yours looks like "Gläser".

        Best Greetings

        Daniel
