    Medal bar

    Hello,
    recently got this medal bar EKII is non magnetic, no makers mark
    Oldenburg Frederich-August cross non magnetic also. Am i right in thinking this is from after WW1

      nice little bar. Pity the pin is missing.

      I think it's hard to nail down the timing of when the bar was made. Perhaps after the war as the recipient didn't think was going to get anymore and so went ahead and made a bar out of his two awards.

        Yes you're right, it is very likely both awards are made post 1918 as replacements. Nice set!

          I think it is possible the ribbon bar could be late wartime. The brass materials, and the lack of a veteran's medal of any kind is unusual for a 1920s bar and with no Hindenburg Cross, it is very unlikely it is post 1934. I don't know about the EK medal itself. Looks like a wartime bar to me though in style. Curious what others think as well. Steve
