Have You ever tried to find out more of Landsturm-Zugsführer Valentin Kröss in the Austrian "Kriegsarchiv" in Vienna ?

Torsten, if you haven't done so yet, maybe posting pictures of him may lead to some knowledgeable member being able to offer some clues as to which unit he served with. The number of German units fighting in Romania was relatively small compared to other fronts. I take it there's nothing written on the reverse of the photos?

Hi Hans, I have never shown the photos to anyone else, but I am afraid that there is no indication to the unit on the photos as far as I recall ... although, I have not looked at them for quite a while ... they are pre-WW1 military and WW1 military photos ... I will get them out again and see if I can find any clues and maybe I will post them here ... but I am always very reluctant to show anything from the family publically ... Cheers, Torsten.
