    Bavarian 1813 Cross

    I recently obtained this Bavarian cross for the Napoleonic wars. I am questioning it's authenticity due to the suspension ring being flat and not ball shaped. Also, several letters are "plugged" (A's) and not clear and defined.

    Has anyone seen authentic crosses with these characteristics? Late war?? Or is this just a fake? Your opinions please.

      I'd be surprised if anyone could give you a definite answer until you produce much higher res photos.

        Honestly, I don't have one of those and cannot say for sure what yours is, but there are many modern cast fakes out. I rather don't like it but as said, am not an expert on those.

        Late war? What war, please? It was awarded in 1817 - now, that was POST war - to the veterans of the War of the Sixth Coalitions.
