    Austrian M1888 NCO bayonet w/ Troddel /Faustriemen

Picked this up last week at a local militaria show and am quite pleased with it, as I've so seldom come across the earlier (pre 1895 versions) of these bayonets. Nice, totally UNtouched condition, complete w/ original knot in un-touched original tie. Distributors name on the ricasso (Tiller & Cie. Wien / Stiftskaserne). Love these totally dark, patina'd rigs!

A very nice early NCO bayonet and knot! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I was really happy to find such a nice, EARLY and utterly unmolested piece. It was a couple hours into the show, and I believe the only reason it was still there was that the show was predominantly geared towards American militaria. I honestly don't think I'd ever run across the early version of this bayonet before, whereas the 1895 types aren't uncommon from my experience...(at least the standard infantry models). Thx.
