Thies has some stuff - an 1813 EK1 (he claims all original are vaulted), and a 1914 with 1870 spange - wish there was a closeup. And a bunch of 1813 EK2s.

Hey Flak,
I took a glance at his site..In reference to the 1813 1st class, are you talking about the one with a pin(#80)? It appears to be a later version, not period. The 2nd class multi-part frame is a nice one(#84)..2800 Euros starting price?! WOW, mine is in that ball park in dollars on Estand!(plug ) I'd be curious to know what the closing bids on these are..

Are you guys seeing pictures I can not? I was looking at the picture
on page 111, showing 3 Eks. From the size and quality of that picture,
there is no way to tell what that cross is. If there is a better picture
available please tell me.
I based my original comment about wanting to see the crown on the fact
that ALMOST all of the ones that we see posted that have the sans-serif
style numbers on the 25 year jubilee spange AND with the very questionable
1914 bar turn out to be bad crosses. Here is just one example----
http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=313819
I personally do not believe Mr. Thies would offer a 9th bead cross, a lop-sided
crown cross or a cast short 7 Godet but that is what we typically see with this
set-up.
Again--please show me where I can see good details of this cross (#93) so I
can judge for myself.Attached FilesLast edited by gregM; 10-11-2008, 10:41 AM.

I don't have way better pictures but the printed catalogue handy since today, and the crown looks like one of the awarded pieces. Highly vaultetm, not tha flat crap. Well, still nothing to tell 100% sure from the pictures but as you said, I cannot imagine Andreas Thies would offer a 9th bead. The 1914 bar is - according to him - one of the very few genuine ones. No idea how he can tell that, I cannot and from what I know, noone here can...
