prussian campaign medals

does anyone know if the prussians engraved soldiers names onto the rim of the 1815 campaign medal.... or would it have been done privately by the soldier himself?

Hello Jagdtiger,

The Prussian campaign medals for 1815 were issued with the words “AUS EROBERTEM GESCHUTZ” engraved or, more properly, impressed on the rim. Such a medal with a name engraved on the rim would most likely be a private purchase piece.
