1914 EK1 Outer Carton

I picked this EK1 outer carton up to compliment my Imperial Iron Cross collection. It's not mint, but the fact that something like this is even around after almost 100 years is amazing. You really don't see too many of these out there and most were probably discarded soon after being awarded. The seller said he thought this was from the maker KO, but I'm not sure. What does everyone think?

You can see where the push button from the case that would have been inside has come through the flap.

Steve - I have a very similar carton. It came wirh a Geodet market EK. These were probably used by a number of jewlers.

The label reads something like "only to be opened by recipient".

Thanks Brian. I assumed many makers would have used this carton. This would have been nicer as a complete set but it's still a good addition.

Steve, that's a nice one and is an exact match for my box, which is from the manufacturer KO.

Here's mine and it does have a KO cross in it. Notice the tape job keeping it together.
