    Medal info needed.

    Hello,
I know that the first medal is a long service piece for the DRK. I can not find a reference to it anywhere in my books. Do any of you have a reference that tells what years it was given out, or what the official name is? Also, is there any guess on value?

    Thanks,
    Chet

      Alex,
Is this info for the first or third medal? My question is about the first medal and that date for some reason seems late to me.

      Thanks,
      Chet

What is on the OTHER side of the first medal? Its ribbon appears to be that for the Hessian WW1 War Effort Medal.

Though allowed for wear under the Third Reich, I know of NO reference book listing the regional Red Cross awards of the Weimar Republic period or those awards' ribbons.

          Rick,
I will post the other side tomorrow ( scanner is at home). The first ribbon does not show it's true color here. It is pink. I mean really electric pink. The ribbon also seems to be more narrow than the others. I will try to measure it also.

          Thanks,
          Chet

Here is the back. The ribbon is indeed more narrow. It measures 1 inch wide. As stated it is pink with white stripes. Anyone have one of these? It is definitely a new one for me.

            Thanks,
            Chet

              Very nice!
I vaguely remember this award. The details escape me at the moment, but there IS documentation on the medal in question.

In any case this is a rare and cooool bar.

              Thanks for sharing!
