    odd medal bar

    here is a pic of a young man, has to be around 1935-38 as he has a hindenberg cross ,ic 2nd class, and maybe 2 war merit cross or other medals.??

    very odd pic, thoght it would be cool to post.

      Very serious looking young man. It looks like he went to his local "Hardware Hank" store to get his medals mounted.

        He looks Bulgarian. Isn't that a Bulgarian War Merit Cross on the far right? I was thinking they used a bar similar to that on a civilian suit jacket. The bar goes under the lapel and the medal hang out. ?? Ammersee

            Thanks, but unfortunately I don't own it. Just a pic from my files. I kept it because the spange was so unusual. Am I correct that this type of spange was worn under the lapel of a jacket? That's the only thing I could figure it was for.
            The more I look at the bar in the above photo the more it looks like it was made to string Austrian tri-folds on. The boy looks kind of young to have earned those awards. Ammersee

              That Saxon bar is of the more unusual Saxon-type ribbon mounting, and would have been worn under the lapel on civil jacket. Really great bar. I think the kid in the first picture might just be "dressing up" with that spange.
