Is this an Imperial Tank Badge?

I have come across this badge and wonder if it could be an Imperial Tank Badge if there was such a thing. Opinions welcomed.

No, you are wrong. A BW tank troops cap badge. It has nothing to do with Imperial badges. It could never be a ww1 tank......

Thanks everyone for putting me straight on this one and particularly Don for posting an actual Imperial Tank Badge.
What exactly does BW stand for ?

Hi Peter, BW = Bundeswehr, the West German and later re-unified German Army.

              Cheers, Ade.

very entertaining thread, hehe! I agree, BW, probably an earlier example still without the german flag on it (usually on the bottom). I can make out the OLC maker mark on it, those can be found on TR and Bw awards (such as these beret badges or belt buckles for example.)
                Best Regards
                Rainer

Thanks everyone for your input, it seems that I did indeed start an entertaining thread. I decided to give the item a miss, but am interested in knowing what OLC and TW mean.

Hi Peter, "OLC" is the makers mark for Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid.

TW? or did you mean TR for Third Reich?

                            Cheers, Ade.

                              Thanks Ade.
I think that Rainer probably meant TR instead of Tw.
