Small Bronze Of An Austrian Rifleman

    here's a recent pickup:

a little (ca. 3x 7") bronze WWI austrian rifleman with a steyr/mannlicher carbine. he's got "all the right stuff" judging by the very detailed gear.

(interesting point: the factory-applied patina includes mud!)

I see no scupltor's name only a number on bottom.
anyone know who designed or cast this little gem - or anything else abiut it? I've not seen another.

    thanks for any input.

You can see that it was once part of something larger. Perhaps he was leaning on a rock or something else and that is the reason for the flat areas on the front of his equipment. All the same, a nicely detailed piece.
