I think you and Tony should compare PLM's. Tiger1's PLM

The suspensions are different one baroque, one pie wedge... but this is the same type as his.

Can you tell us the scource of this one?

Thanks Biro, You are correct they are very very similar. The one I showed is straight silver. Sometimes photos show a silver color when they are actually gold..
Source is a private collector..

After reading Tiger's thread here are some points:
The seller is selling this as a Post WWI/1920's copy-not as an original
No weep holes
The enamel is the darker version

It is known that Godet and Wagner picked up making PLM's after 1918.
It there any research regarding the characteristics of said post war medals? How similar/disimilar were they to the wartime issues?

Godets post war PLM's have straight tail feathers - no 'feather' pattern - do a search, you'll find some here.

Wagner is tougher - the few I have seen described as 'post war' are all but identical, but have either lacked the requisite 938 silver mark altogether, or have an 835 content. Many of the other secret characteristics are present indicating the same die was used, and the finishing quality is not as good.

That's all I can share.

Like Tony's cross, I liked it until I saw the 'W.' Just does not align with Wagner pieces of any era. Quality? Yes. A Godet style with a jeweler made baroque loop? Possibly. But when I saw the W, that seemed to kill something inside me about this piece.

What is interesting is that two of these pieces would emerge here in a month or so. I don't have a good feeling about it. Post war Godets still looked like Godets. Post War Wagners still looked like Wagners. Friedlander or even post war Meybauer still carried the Wagner or Godet style to exact dimensions. This looks like some hybrid with a Wagner mark, making it a bit suspect for me. Just my opinion. Steve

I was talking with my fellow friend and collector in Germany..He reminded me that the PLM's were always marked(if marked on the arms) on the 6 o'clock arm---this one isn't... (Godets a different matter)
