    What armbands are these ?

These can have probably all kind of meanings, but maybe some of the members have knowledge (not speculation) what these were for.

Speculation can be - Umpires at a manouevre ? Functional personal during shooting practice ? Sentinels of some kind ? Or whatever ?

    Kind regards
    Robert

It's hard to say since the real colors are unknown, but these usually indicate the function of higher staff orderlies, message runners at divisional headquarters or something like that where someone on duty with the right armband could be waved on past security without checking papers and so on. These are "badges of office."

Since the pics are here. What kind of tunics are these? Are they colonial?

Rick, thanks, another possibility I didn't think of.
Probably we will never find out exactly, but as I have read a lot of books about WW 2, I thought maybe a member who has read books about WW 1 could solve the mistery as it may stand somewhere in a book what the purpose of these was.
The uniforms are some kind of summer light-weight tunics, the trousers are regular cord trousers, I don't think they are colonial troops (but who knows)

        Kind regards
        Robert
