It's interesting that there is no rust. Is the core made of some material other than iron? Ammersee

The core is magnetic.
I have seen a few of these MFH crosses and most of them have lost a lot of paint from the cores,but not rusty.I suppose they could have been sprayed with something before painting to stop rusting.

theyre have the saime strange core,,,, as maker +m+.

seen that on my one to

like the core is silverplated

looks much like aluminium but it is'nt

I got this MFH recently - it has damaged and repaired loop, but I like it. Love this high and detailed crown. Looks the same type as Johns, but W and FW are lower.

Maker mark is surely MFH, so the ring is from this cross.
