Very rare bayer. MVK 2. Klasse mit Krone

this is my last purchase. A bayer. Militaerverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern und Krone in best condition and with a makers mark on the reverse of the right sword:
W. Co = Weiss & Co. Muenchen.

Only about 3800 of these crosses have been awarded in WWI and only to Feldwebels.

Hi,

a niece piece. But I think the MVK 2. Klasse was awarded to soldiers with the ranks Vizefeldwebel, Feldwebel and Fähnrich.

The 2. Klasse mit Krone was reserved for the ranks of Offizier-Stellvertreter, Unterzahlmeister, Musikmeister etc.

Hi,

as far as I know it was awarded to Feldwebels. All Offz-Stellvertreter, Feldwebelleutnante etc. got the 1. Klasse.
The Crown denotes a second award of the same class with swords.
