      you just notified DOV ,,
and they wood send you a man who wood measure you're uniform , ( if not already known )
go back to Berlin ,,and deliver it back to you (in the field) if ready .

Very interesting Kay. I wonder how much pressure was applied to get junior officers to join....

Kay, this thread is a real treat. Love that catalogue -- the IKEA of the day.

Please post more when you can, the information is all fascinating.

                Thanks
                Best regards,

as far as aim informed about it now ,,

DOV was founded (1884,, Hauptmann v. Wedel. ) to get prices and quality off the military industry (still growing out off proportions) in to a controllable and reliable form.
and serve the interest off officers and army in all way's .
it was profitable fore both side's ,,and the only one in his kind that I know off

of course ,,if you're in the officers rank's,,

promotion always go's hand in hand with who you know ,who you impress ,and what club you're a member off.

the higher the rank the higher the stake's

especially in the German army it is until now the only way off getting in to the higher ranks like oberst , kolonel and general .

looking at the directors and seniors running the show at DOV ,,
it wood be a wise career move to be a member .

I don't understand this... From this catalog, either real silver or not. That's two. You seem to imply more from this or I could be wrong.?

1870 ek ,,made in 1902 dos not mean automatically you wood get a standard Wagner or godet as we know them ,,,,at that point .?

or did DOV sell some commonly known ek 1870 at that time ,,( we think off being 1890's 0r even 1870's ?)

                      that is what I mean

                      regards kay

I'm guessing you are right when you say a commonly made at that 1870. Not hundreds or scores of examples... Limited.
