    He's not a "known" maker at this time. Look at how the pins are applied with the tilt to the left.

      The style of hinge and pins look very very similar. The thing
      that makes me wonder is that the H. Timm company was not shy
      about marking their badges, so why would they not put their
      mark on a EK?

        Good question Greg. Perhaps they were not an "authorized" maker. Given that these EKs were made in the 20s-30s perhaps they were using the grey area that existed after the monarchy collapsed. Perhaps no government official cared enough to look into it. You can find the same phenomenom today wrt the german government and the fakers of TR awards.

          Could the pin and hinge have been an item bought as a sub-assembly from an outside source by Timm...and possibly others? Ammersee

              Sure it could have. I guess we would see the same pin on other maker's items then. Of course the guy made single piece veterans badges etc... and we have a single piece cross.
