      I started this thread last April wanting info on this unusual Iron Cross. (EK2?)
      Now, I have found another one. It seems obvious these are period pieces and are of high quality. Are they official EK2's or... ??? Here is the latest one I found. Ammersee

              Yes, you are correct...it looks like it is the same cross. Good eye! I never noticed. My questions still stands, though. Who made it? Is it an official EK2?

                  The thin frame is more in line with the early 1813 crosses.

                              That's about right for an opening bid. An unmarked EK2 closed for $26 last night. They generally close between $45 and $85. I've only seen a couple of Imperial EK2's close over $100, and these were in cases or had specific provenance. Ammersee
