      Don,

      I noticed there were pictures posted in another thread with a Meybauer cross in it. It was marked PM on the screw retainer. ( That cross is a beaut). Mine is not marked PM. Could you tell from my lousy picture that tried to depict the maker mark or just by the style of the cross?

        I believe that this style with the backing plate and such is a known Meybauer trait. Also, the core will be an indicator too. In your third picture, there is a crest on the upper arm. This is the Meybauer trade mark, a dead give away.
