Oh, For A Sebatronic Custom Display System!!!

WEM came by yesterday to look at my "stuff," which is normally not ever out. His pix, my stuff, rather haphazardly spread out. Most of these medal bars have been posted here before, but even I rarely get to play with more than 3 or 4 of them at any time.

And then there are the reeebon barz.... (fear not, no pix of THOSE en masse! )

It was raining, of course (when ISN'T it, this soggy year? ) and normally I wouldn't have stuff out where Little Wet Cat Feet could... step on things but Senior Cat was napping and The catatollah was out watching the strange car in the driveway...

Shouldn't the moderator move this thread to the e-stand?

Do you think I should have a yard sale? But it is ALWAYS raining... and I wouldn't want the sort of people who COLLECT this stuff in my house, would I???

Last one. I don't think I forgot any of the medal bars, though with so many Mysterious Lumps wrapped up in archives paper in the vault...

Next on the agenda, The Ricky Fashion Show... Modelling Soviet Uniforms That Fit...

Rick, what's this fifth from left? Breast star mounted on bar? Or just laying there because you HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF? These belong in Seattle where it doesn't rain so much, less chance of rain damage!

That's the Turkish Medjidie Order 5th Class with sabers. For some reason during the war there was a fashion among at least German naval recipients to pick up grotesquely oversized "Commander" sized ones... leading to the poor puny Liakat being "buried."

Here he is (a "search" of "Böning"--don't forget the umlaut! will turn up more, in here, or Collections, or General Wehrmacht. I forget where I've left him ) in 1924 wearing this bar as it then was, with the then STOOPID fashion of wearing an EMPTY TWM ribbon up on the medal bar with the star worn correctly:

Whose idea was it to put your medals in a shallow box with cats in the house?

Those Third Reich awards are throwing off the feng shui of your Imperial collection, perhaps you should send them my way, for universal harmony and all that.

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

I hope there aren't any ZINC pieces there.

Martha Stewart says you should keep your zinc pieces at least 18 inches
away from your Imperial stuff lest the enamel get infected by the zinc!

                        Rick,

That's a beautiful display... Some of your bars I have never seen, like the very hard to find medal bar miniature... Could you post a bigger picture of that?

                        Ciao,

                        Claudio
