    PLM w/oaks in Wear

Just found this photo, shows the PLM in wear. Mutti on left and Tanta Gesetha on right. Gunther von Etzel standing proudly with his daughters.

The PLM. I expected the closeup to show more taper but he had quite a few ribbons leftover and changed them almost weekly. It's possible this early ribbon wasn't quite so tapered. Mutti remembers this however as the mini-PLM that he wore on his linen suits.

          nice pics and piece!

could you please show a picture of the other side of the miniature, please.
does he had only this mini or others to?
          perhaps one without oak leaves?
          thanks christian

My mother has one without the PLM just the oak and ribbon on the exact same device but the oak attached to the button.

thanks - and a really nice one!

why is the enmaile on the back side better than on the front - normally the back has more damages!

It's been in wrap for over 50 years, 1949. That's the way it was wrapped up. But I'd guess having it exposed to the front of a jacket which is taken off and hung up over and over could result in a few dings. He was also an extremely active man. He was steeple chasing as late as 1939. I doubt he wore it for that but certainly on his jacket every time he took one of his horses out for a walk. But, the back sure is minty. Luckily, his full size PLM did not get any abuse.
