Knight’s Cross of the Hohenzollern Order!

    Hello!
Ponomarev's thread, has inspired me to start this one. The Knight’s Cross of the Hohenzollern Order to me, is one of the most BEAUTIFUL medals! I once saw one at a gun show, and I made a noise like a little giddy school boy
anyways, I am looking for photos of this award that show its true beauty. Please if you have one or have photos of one, or have photos of one in wear, please post them!
I guess I will start off
Here is a 3rd Reich photo of a Capt. who is winner of the Knight’s Cross of the Hohenzollern Order.

And the most beautiful Order out there, Knight’s Cross of the Hohenzollern Order....

Mine, next to a grotesque 1939+ remake (icky! yucky!) of the 1914 EK2... but I know whose bar this was.

Of course, "dumb" children then were MUTE, not stupid!

I haven't been able to scan my man's award document in postable size yet, since Seba's new "pixels" size restrictions are meaningless to my inches/KB scanner. Maybe tomorrow.

For some truly wonderful medal bars with HHOXs, check out the Evilness That Is Werner at

He's such a beast making us all

Here are a bunch of my anonymous HHOX ribbon bars, lapel bows, and a mini. Identified ones can be found in the Ribbon Bar Article and scattered in this Forum, General Wehrmacht, and Collections Forums under "ribbon bar" search.

But removing the ribbon, he could convert this tunic to full dress (he only had the EK2 and the HHOX as ribboned awards from the war) by wearing his two medal bar from the loops visible in this closeup.

Beeckmann was a Field Artillery officer. He is wearing the uniform of Transport Battalion 1, in which he served 1923-29. He later left the Reichsheer, but came back as an (E) officer, finally making 1942 Oberst (S) as chief (back in artillery branch) of the Army Remount Office, Razot. People tend to forget that the mighty "mechanized" Wehrmacht remained largely dependant on horse drawn transport and artillery right to the end of the war. The SECOND war.

MMMMMMM I have never seen this one before, its almost like the dark side of the Knight’s Cross of the Hohenzollern Order Thanks for showing it!

WOW! Its nice knowing what he did before the war, and if that guy thought "SPECIAL" children, there's no telling what other stories are behind some of our medals

Here are a bunch of my anonymous HHOX ribbon bars
WOW! These ribbon bars are nice......... how much would, lets say, the bottom one cost?

Nice photo too! This is the first time I have ever seen it worn through the button hole, it looks very nice like that!
Thanks A lot for sharing these!!!!!!!!

Now, if I've managed to guess "pixels" correctly here is the award document for my medal bar's HHOX above. All Prussian Orders used this same printed "dog license" format, with only the recipient's data and dates filled in by hand.

The number at bottom left has NOTHING to do with running award totals or anything we can account for--apparently just some internal Orders Chancery filing code.

Oberleutnant Krause's HHOX was gazetted in the Militär-Wochenblatt edition of 7 May 1918. Note that the document was actually made out on 21 April.

I was also able to find this very nice photo, on the forum!

I totally agree this is one of the most beautiful of all the orders. I'm very upset I don't have a relative that left me one! For just pure beauty of the Prussian orders this one really makes it.
