    Hi again,

2 is German Volkspflege (a kind of a red cross award) cross or the medal, 5 is the Italian Order of the crown, 5th (knights) class.

    Best regards

    Daniel

about the kvk, can be swords, can be without. Hard to say just like that. I think he was some official guy, no Fire brigade, no police, no Air defense.

        Best regards

            Hi Alex,

as Germany and Italy were allies in WW2
Germans also got Italian Orders. Thaits nothing
            unusual.
Here a pic of the Italian crown order:

            Best regards

                Just curious:

How ethical is it to "assemble" such a group? While the medals are not named as they are in my major field of interest (Indo-British), they are clearly NOT the medals awarded to the original recipient or originally worn on the bar. I am NOT accusing anyone of making fakes, but I am just trying to decide what standards apply in various fields. For example, Third Reich collectors view new ribbons as a crime, whereas in my "home field" it is common and accepted practice to reribbon (though maybe too aggressively?).

                Seeking enlightenment,

                Ed Haynes

                      Hi Alex,

the Spain Red Military Merit Order has the same ribbon but would
be unlikely. That Order was awarded for merits at war and our guy seems to be an desk warrior. If spain I would expect a White
Military Merit Order (reversed ribbon colors) or a Order of Isabella
                      the Catholic.
So I think the Italian one is the right.

                      Best regards

                      Daniel
