KDM 70/71
Kreuz für Kriegshilfe
Ehrenkreuz für Hinterbliebenen (next of kin).

A bar of a veteran of 1870/71 who lost his son in WW1 and who got the cross next of kin as a very old man.

Just to add to Werners ID. Livesaving ribbon is 1st, 2nd is Cross of General Honor award.

I dont think he was medic. More likely an old Sergeant or middle class civil servant. At least 40 years in service according to the decorations. called back for WW1, got just the war aid cross and lost a son. Alive of course 1934.

Wouldn't 70/71 Kämpfer and 14/18 Nichtkämpfer be more likely?

70/71 should be a fighters medal.
14/18 is next-of-kin. In 34 the recipients had to decide which cross they apply for. I think this guy had the choice between the non-com-cross and the next-of-kin. So he decided to next-of-kin.
