The core looks OK, but when I enlarged it the beading looks flat. I'd feel better about it if the 800 were below the hook rather than on the pin, too. I'm much more familiar with EKII's so take this for what it's worth.

I don't see anything in particular that would cause doubts to be raised about this cross. I've seen the 800 mark in various locations.

The pin, hinge and catch exhibit fine craftsmanship and I have seen this arrangement on flat crosses.

It may be WWI or an early postwar piece but there is no way of knowing for sure.
