    Colonial Mini Group Id?

The following group seems all well and good until I come to the last decoration. At first I thought it was a non-German award that had lost its bottom cross but inspection shows no attachment was ever there. Someone suggested it might be a shooting abzeichen, not sure about that, the crown seems non-German to me. Any ideas?

I've seen that crown before! I think you're right, it's not German. Let me look thru my photos. I'll be right back.

Hi Gary, the crown you listed is close but the mini crown in angled towards the top cross while yours is much more round. I thought about Austria or Bulgaria. Even so, what would it reresent as an award, I'm not aware of award classes which would only be the crown. I appreciate your help, will welcome more.
          Best,
          Bob

The crown with pendalia is part of a Bulgarian award given post-1900. This type of crown was used on the Order of St Alexander, Order of Civil Merit and Order of Military Merit.

Definetly a Bulgarian Czar´s crown and like JBFloyd says used at the Alexander, Civil Merit and Military Merit Order.

                  Best regards

Does anyone have the medal to post here? I thought for a moment that the crown looked like the crown on one of the different types of pilots badges from WWI.

Great thread.....I learned a little more, today.

                      von Heydebreck?

                      Hi Bobby,

on the first look, i thought it is the "Bewährungsabzeichen des Selbstschutzbatallion von Heydebreck", but the crone is different. Could be, that he was in a Kriegerbund after the war!?

Order of St. Alexander, Fourth Class, with Crown:

Order of Military Merit, 4th Class:

I have an Order of Civil Merit, but without the crown. It would have the same crown as the Order of Military Merit.

Thanks Dave and Gerd for your inputs. The crown seems to fit the Bulgarian model best but I am unaware of any Bulgarian award which would be the crown alone. There is no mark or vestige on the crown to indicate it was the top of a Bulgarian award that might have broken off. Have any of you fellows had such a representation on a mini group?
                          Again thanks for the input,

The crown was not worn alone. Whatever Order was ther, the cross is missing.

                            Best regards

Great photos of some beautiful medals, thanks Dave.

So, since the cross is broken off the crown we can only guess which award it was for. Thanks Daniel, and everyone else who had input.

                              PS I enjoyed this thread!
