Variations in shape are fairly common. This one appears to have a silver-plated frame, and the mark "2" could be the 3rd Reich era mark of C.E.Juncker in Berlin. Perhaps this is a WW2 production piece.

Thanks Tim...i thought WW2 Junker but then remembered that id read somewhere that imperial WW2 made EK2s were in a bigger frame? I surpose that it could be very early war Junker using old imperial frames? What are your thoughts?

It has still the old "Schinkelform" so not a late WW2 piece.
I´m not the Expert for EK2 Markings, maybe Jens can help.

          Best regards

              Hi sven,

What are the measurements of the cross - 42-43 mm square or 44 mm square? That may help differentiate whether the cross is WW1, Schinkel (early WW2) or WW2 production. Also, any chance that the "2" is actually a not so well formed N or Z (possibly on it's side)?

              Regards

Hi. pic of the back as asked for.

                The Frame is silver plated.

The size is 42-43 mm square.

Ive stared at the mark under a powerful mag glass and it has a definate curve to the top of the "2". It looks for all the world like a 2 but it could be wear but i cant see any wear to the ring so id still say 99% that its a 2...ive attched another pic of the mark...thanks sven

                    I have a Juncker marked cross with a "J".

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...hlight=Juncker

Yours looks completely different. I think it is a WWI or 20s made cross, but not from Juncker. Its maker used the mark "2"; whatever this means.
