RARE Imperial EICKHORN sword needs identification. THANKS!

Hi everyone, i need some help identifying this sword and the markings on it. It is an Imperial era Carl Eickhorn naval sword. There is what appears to be Greek writing at the base of the blade; I was able to translate some of it to say "Hellenic Military Academy". I was told it may be a cadet's sword. The closest thing i have found resembling this piece is a Kriegsmarine presentation sword found here:

http://65.160.172.250/daggers.html (about halfway down the page)
The engraving on this sword is exactly the same floral pattern on mine, minus the swastika on the anchor. Sorry i just realized i didnt take a pic of the engraving on my sword so you can look at the Kriegs piece for examination. I will add an additional pic later.

Im pretty sure there is a gold finish on the hilt (underneath a thick layer of gunk). Ive included some pics of the gold shining through after some light scratching with a toothpick and my fingernail. I have made no attempts to clean or restore it, but any suggestions on doing so are welcome.

    Not a Damascus blade
    No 3rd Reich markings
    The grip is sharkskin
The finish is worn off below the lion's head

Also the metal band for the hanger came off and i slid it on backwards.

Here are some pics i took after scratching off some of the gunk:

This last pic shows where the original finish is definately worn off:

This piece will be for sale after i can findout more about it. Any and ALL information is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a TON!

Nope! It's just like leibregiment said, it's a Greek navy sword. It has the Greek royal coat of arms in two different places, along with the Greek writing and the anchor leads to really only one choice.......Greek navy.

Some folks just don't believe the obvious.

The writing was kind of a giveaway that is Greek navy.

I was hoping for some details. Maybe a time period. Why is there no Eickhorn logo? What does the weird coat of arms mean? Is that gold? How do i clean it?Should i clean it?

Looks to be an Eickhorn model 1670. Since Carl Eickhorn was establsihed in 1865, began using a double squirrel logo in 1906 and a single squirrel logo in 1920; Does the absence of a logo mean this was made prior to 1906?

The translation actually says "Greek Military__?__ Athens". The Greek Military Academy was founded in 1834 but in Piraeus but was relocated to Athens in 1894 where it stayed until 1982.
The Greek Naval Academy has had only one landbased structure. Established in 1905 in Piraeus. Although it is only 6 miles from Athens, it is it's own municipality. Is it a possibility that the anchor doesnt mean Navy?

Is the ship on the blade is a specific one? It looks like the SMS Kaiser Wilhelm II(flagship of the German Navy from 1902-1906). The same ship is on the Kriegs blade i posted earlier. That sword had to be made in the 30s-40s right?

The coat of arms was used only by which sat as the Greek Royal family begining in 1863.

              George I of Greece (1845 - 1913, reigned 1863 - 1913).
              Constantine I of Greece (1868 - 1923, reigned 1913 - 1917, 1920 - 1922).
              Alexander I of Greece (1893 - 1920, reigned 1917 - 1920).
              George II of Greece (1890 - 1947, reigned 1922 - 1924, 1935 - 1947).
              Paul I of Greece (1901 - 1964, reigned 1947 - 1964).
              Constantine II of Greece (1940 -, reigned 1964 - 1973).

              ANYTHING constructive would be appreciated.
              Thanks.

I never questioned that this sword is anything but Greek. No need to be rude.
