I met a new "dealer" for me this weekend. He had a few interesting items. I noticed a few Imperial medals that were evenly worn with new ribbons. I asked about medal bars - "Oh, I cut those up and sell them seperately." He held up a bare bar 3 to 4 place as evidence of a recent butcher. I almost died! I asked why and he replied that medals sell faster for him this way. Destroy history for a higher profit!
He also knows the Ohio Ribbon Bar Faker and gave me a bit of insight into him. Now I wonder if there is not an expansion into madal bars. Some people!

this sort of cr*p realy pi**es me off! i know a dealer in dublin who does this and he quiet happy to tell me of all the medal bars he broke up including some "very large imperail ones with rare awards on them!" and when i told him that certain bars might be tracable he laughed and said that thats no possible!!! *sigh* i suppose the only good thing is he doesnt get them in that much!!

I wouldn't be too much surprised if the same of dealers would put together in medal bars, medals which are common only to sell them faster.

That's very sad... I even don't want to think how many beautiful medal bars have been destroyed like that, especially during the few last years, when prices begun to skyrocket.
