EK2 mmz with mark on small ring

Hi,
looking for a bit of help with this one. Had this cross in my collection for a while but just noticed what looks like a 2 on the small ring at the top of the cross.I know other makers did this but have found nothing for this maker.The maker mark is a bit unclear but i think it is a z. Any help would be great.

Both marks look like they could be a Z, which makes sense because Z is a fairly common maker of these 2nd class crosses. Looks like this one would be double stamped, making it more desirable than a single stamped item. A few more opinions would be nice, but the ring attached to the cross has been known to be stamped in the past.

looking at it again it could be a Z on the small ring as well.The more i looked at it the more it looked like a 2.

Another possibility is that the 2 stamp on the small ring is a
quality control mark. Some Ek1s have been seen with very
numbers stamped under pin and are believed to be used for
quality control purposes. This may be the 2nd class version of that.

Just a thought.

I picked up this mm"K" a few days ago and it also has a mark on the small ring. It could be "w" or "m", but whichever it is, it's a very distinctively shaped letter. Ammersee
