    Flyers Cross (sew on Ek1)

Here is my latest Cross. This Ek1 screwback has a large disc with holes
that could be used to sew the plate to the tunic. These are sometimes
refered to as Flyers crosses as this was supposedly popular with pilots.
(good story but who knows if it is true)

                    Hi Greg,

A very nice example, which appears to retain both original round "nuts".

I have never seen one of these maker marked. The pinback versions of this type are much harder to find - both of my pinbacks have 800 stamped CATCHES.

Re the Flyer connection, that is probably more dealer hype. I only recently obtained a cased example of one of these screwbacks straight from the vet's family - he was ARMY.

Sorry, I can't add pics at the moment - my work connection speed has just been seriously reduced, to almost nothing.

                    Regards
                    Mike
                    Regards
                    Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I guessed the "Flyers cross" story was probably just a story. This
was just one of the many attachment options available BUT you
have to admitt---It's a good story
