    Nice one Tom!

What's the "other" ribbon on the backside for?
Or is it just used as backing materilal??

    Regards,
    Ben

May be that some of you are interested to know the original text of the diploma. Here I will give the German text:

        Wir,

        Wilhelm

        sign. WILHELM

          Thank you Gerdan!
It is a bit hard to read when you're not used to this font....

          Best regards,
          Ben

            Hi Ben,

you are right. But also for Germans sometimes it is very (!) hard to read the old

German handwriting and the individual way of writing of each writer.

            Regards

            Gerdan

Well, I'm glad it's not me

I have tried to "decipher" old german handwriting and printing before, but it is very hard!!

              Best regards,
              Ben

The ribbon in the back is for a second (different) award. I forget what it is exactly, but I think it is a Prussian war merit cross, or something like that.

                  Hi Tom,

                  this is correct.

The second award is the "Preussen Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe"

                  Regards,

                  Oliver
