I just picked this up and thought I would share it with everyone. I have never seen anything like this. Can anyone make out the engraving? Also, would anyone have an idea of the maker of the cross itself?

Looks like a nice patriotic way for a guy to carry and display his EK2. Try looking in the EK database thread for a match to the core features.

A very nice piece indeed. Your father was nice enought to let me handle the piece. You never see anything this "quaint" in the TR era pieces.

The Alpaca stamp might help aid in dating the piece. I am not sure when Alpaca started to be used but perhaps that will provide a clue to the date of assembly.

Charlie comes up with some great pieces at great prices.
