    German Ers. Infantry Rgt 256

    Hi all

I am looking for any information of the German Ersatz Infatry Rgt 256. Where did this unit fight, order of battle and so on.

Also any information of a WW1 research site is highly welcome in order to do some research on German Infantry units.

    Thaks in advance

    There was no EIR 256.

There was a Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 256, formed in December 1914 from Feldbataillonen 34, 35 and 36 by the stellv. Gen. Kdo. VII A.K. in Westphalia. It was initially part of the 77. Reserve-Division and moved to the 218. Infanterie-Division in 1916.

The best online site for information on the combat chronicles of German units is here: http://www.1914-18.info/erster-weltk...-(Deutschland)

    77.RD is here: http://www.1914-18.info/erster-weltk...serve-Division

    218.ID is here: http://www.1914-18.info/erster-weltk...terie-Division
