Uknown Medal requires ID; Help requested.

    Colleagues,

I have acquired an interesting Medal that I have had no success identifying.

It appears that the Crown is hollow with great detail. It also appears that is was welded (?) to the body of the Medal proper.

On one side is written "Go Mit Uns" around an Imperial Crown and over a laurel. The other side of the Medal is a large script WR (Wilhelm Rex?). In the right loop of the W is a very small number "4".

The Medal has a nice Gold wash on it.

    Can anyone identify this Medal?
Can anyone tell me its' value?

I look forward to all replies.

    Cheers,

    Michael Collins

I believe that is the Prussian Kronen-Orden-Medaille (Crown Order Medal).

          Thank you Michael.

          I found this:

          http://www.medalnet.net/Crown_Order_Medal.htm

What does the "4" represent; maker?

Can anyone tell me a value?

          Cheers,

          Michael Collins

Nice piece. @ $125-$150 at least.
Usually awarded to kick-butt NCOs and Officer Stlvtrs. (Deputty officers) or the odd Feldwebel-Lt. types.

              Thank you McCulloh.

You would think it would be worth more considering they only awarded 5000.

                might well be worth more

Well, it might well be worth more. I haven't ever bought a single one. It's quite a prestigious award. I don't put much truck into what many dealers charge, as they often have an absolute top premium price.
