            They can be found either way or not marked at all.

              Is there a reason some were marked and others weren't? Why would a manufacturer have different markings throughout the production run? Thanks!

                      I wanted to add this thread to the discussion here:

                      S-W EK1

                      ...to show the similarity between one of S-W's cores and the 1870 Type B cores.

                      Steve, the EK1 you show in the very first post is one of this type so, with respect, I believe it's probably S-W's first core, speaking chronologically, rather than their second.
