I think its the Oldenburg cross (type it in in the search engine above for examples and info).
I'm going to look through the books tonight.
            Thanks for the stats.
Can i also ask: when were the EK2s awarded by year? Also, are there more to regulars than reservists and landwehr? Does rank matter? e.g. Does almost every Sergeant (+) have one?

thxs for the medal help, i think you are right.

as for the dates on the ic awardings here they are in no particular order.

you know i really did not look at the ranks of the guys who won them.
rank really does not matter to me, i just like nice filled out ones with nice listings of battles and other info.

              hope this helps

I would LOVE to see the wound badge dates.
The badge itself wasn't created until early 1918 and started to be handed out during the Kaiserschlacht in Spring/Summer 1918. I suspect those are the dates of the wounds that earned the badges.
Meanwhile, i suspect that the higher the rank, the easier it was (and is) to get a medal. i was just wondering if that theory was bourne out by your collection.

Very interesting photo. "Dreikampf" refers to a sports competition. So we are looking at the three winners, who were given prizes , such as a silver goblet, a little bust of the Kaiser, a Zigarrenetui (far left).

In today's collections these are the items that make for a really well rounded display of that era.

                          Thanks for showing this.

                          regards
                          Thorsten
