Also, the Order of the Taj (Crown) was to replace the Sun and Lion. Ironically ,it didn't.Note the similarity between the Taj and French Legion of Honour.The sun and Lion was suppose mirror the L.of H ,but became the most screwed up order with statutes and design sometimes changing daily.If the Shah ran out of 4th class badges he would declare the 3rd or the 5th to be the new design for the 4th class.This is one reason they did away with it and replaced it with a very regimented Taj based very strictly on the French L.of H..

Thank you.Glad you enjoy them.This star is for the grand cross as awarded to to foreigners.It was made in Paris in 1870.The centre is porceline and made by Limoge ,the famous China manufacturers.Will send some pieces made in Persia from the same time and you can see why some chose to have finer quality pieces made at home.
