    A little help...

I found these tiny ribbons sewn onto a button, I assume they are German. It was inside of a box of WWI junk. What medals do they belong to?

    Neat!

You don't see this little rolled ribbon lapel bows very often!
    Medals are: (top to bottom)

    Prussian "War Aid" Cross
Lippe-Detmold War Merit Cross, Second Class
Honor Cross for WW1 (No Swords)

Thanks! Is this type of setup uncommon?

        Yes!

I've seen less than a dozen rolled lapel bows... the flat ones abound! But, scarcity doesn't translate into a huge increase in value, there's a real lack of demand for this type of item...

Ok, thanks I wasn't planning on selling it anyways, it's one of the few pre-WWII pieces that I own.

Here's another scarce buttonhole type, the rosette. I seem to remember something about these only being worn by a select few EK Trager. Somebody help me out here.

Note that the Lippe-Detmold is on the non-combatant ribbon, which would fit with the Prussian War Aid Cross and the non-combatant Honor Cross. It could also be the War Honor Medal, which see below, rather than the War Merit Cross.

                  Matthew,

nice and rare piece! As Stogie says this type is not so common!

                  Tom Y,

ohooo! Only the 5th time I see a German Imperial time Rosette!

                  Christian

yellow-black sounds like Brunswick Ernst-August-Kreuz or Württemberg Tapferkeitsmedaille. Can You describe the ribbons more precisely?

                  Best regards

                  Daniel
