I just got today and I have no problem with it. But I always want the EK Fanatics to give their blessing. It is unmarked, three piece, magnetic core and very thin and delicate (if thats the right description). Also is it WW1 era or post war/ TR era? All comments welcome. The pics are crappy, sorry. Ron.

Yes there it is in incuse relief, or in a box. My WS is stamped right on the rear, with the stamp being very faint. My pin is different, but I saw the same pin on a WS sold on another site a few days ago. It had the faint WS stamp like mine. The cross isn't vaulted is it? These are believed to be one of the wartime award pieces. I'm working on getting all those makers. Greg, I'm surprised you don't have this maker, as it's fairly common. Nice though. Available in an EK2 version also, which not all 1st class makers seem to be.

There are three (3) known WS EK1 cores. Which one is the typical one? None of them imo.

An 1870 core has nothing to do with 1914. Different dies - period.
Thanks, but I think I can differentiate "KO" from "WS" (from S-W, from Godet, from Meybauer, etc).
I am not mistaken. There are three (3) types of cores used on 1914 EK1s marked WS (whether incuse relief or stamped).
For the record, Godet used 2 cores. KO used at least 2 cores. Which one is "typical" Godet. Which one is "typical" KO??
