    Parade Mount 1914 EK2 case - opinions

This is the case that the parade mount 1914 EK2 came it. I was told by the seller that it is one of a group of EKs to one man. One the inside of the lid is printed "Kuhn Hofjuwelier Freiburg i. Br." The inside of the lid is soft and not backed by foam. The bottom tray is not fitted for the EK and is lined with what feels like black velvet. The outside is some type of ribbed material. The hinge is spring loaded. Any opinions are helpful.

Juwelier K[hn has been around since 1874 and in 1914 became the House Jeweler to the Großherzogs von Baden. Thry're still in business. The logo on your case seems awfully modern. I'd feel much better if it had this logo:

The writing in the inside of the box does look very modern (after 1940). The font used for "Kühn" dates certainly from after WW2 (even later the 60s) I would say.

              reversed EK

I have seen this reversal also in other groups. My grandfather's group had a reversal and he told me it was done because he was an Oldenburger and not Prussian. If you look at the other examples notice that none were prussian. It may be a political statement from the Weimar times.
