Look closely and tell me what is wrong with this parade mount EK

I just purchased this parade mount EK2. The mounting, ribbon bar and medal all look good. The medal is three piece and the core is loose. Look at the frount and back and tell me what is wrong.

        right

It all looks really good except for the reverse mounting. According to Rick L. this is not that unusual. I guess during the war when the works had thousands of medals to mount that the attention to details sometimes woundered.

          That's a very neat "mistake"!

            Paul,
Whether it was a mistake or the owner requested it mounted this way, it makes a very neat way to display the reverse of the 1914 EK2 in a collection! Very nice.

            Cheers,
            Brett

              I remember Blücher

              Not!

Here's Generalmajor Rathgen doing the same with an 1870!

                  Yea

I was initially POed when I first got it, but then confirming that it is not unique made me feel better. It came with a case that I will post in a separate thread for opinions.

Here is a Württemberger enlisted bar with the same (btw. this is a wonderful detailed stamped core Godet EK!)

I learn something every time I check this forum out. Wow, I never knew about the reversing of EK's.
