Another fake 1870

I am posting this because many new collectors see the Godet
name and side hooks and begin to think they have really found
a treasure.

This piece is pure CRAP. The front is wrong, the Godet name is
wrong, the hooks are wrong.

Here is a picture of the front showing the wrong style
of date.

This is the backside showing the extra long side hooks.

The seller was so proud of this "Godet" marked cross that he gave
us a close up shot of the makers mark. Notice the poorly
done uneven lettering. A true Godet is the work of a craftsman.
This would never be up to their quality standards.

Fangs

Look at the fangs on that beast. I've seen this one/type for sale before somewhere, probably ebay.

There were 15 bids on it and it sold for 245 Euro. A h#ll of a bargin
for an original but way too much for this piece of crap.

Godet with Fangs

The last real Godet with fangs went for over $750.00 on ebay a few months ago. Some might say a steep price for a 1914 piece, and it was, but someone got a really nice one that day. Still searching for one for my own .

Doesn't the date on the core have the "overlapping 8" that is considered fake?

This one definately does not match the pictures I have from
Weitze's and Detlav's original Wagners. The scans I have
show a "flat 8" in the date.
