This is a Bayerische Militär Verdienst Kreuz of 3rd class. I have seen the topic about this medal on this forum but I cannot have my own opinion.

Can you tell me if this one is good or a fake (I can do other photos).

what's the ballpark value on such a medal with and without the case? and how about the same on a merit cross with the crown for NCOs?

These pieces are still a good value. I have a cased one I picked up less than 2 years ago fpr about $60 US. I just got one with the crown and swords for $65 US, although not cased. They are still affordable. With swords in a case, less than $100, which is good, because the case I have which has a hinge and latch is a decent quality item.
