    What is This Medal?

    While I found this pic elsewhere, there is one of these medals (without ribbon ) at a local antique shop.

    What medal is this, and is it worth the $35 that the shop is asking for it?

    It appears to be a vet buy, as there is also a WW1 EK2 (also without ribbon- $38), as well as some WW2 stuff; bronze Mother's Cross, black wound badge, tinnies, metal RAD cap insignia, etc...

    It looks to be the Saxe-Ernestine House Order (SEHO) Gold Service Medal (1908 and before).

    There are Imperialites that know much more than I do, but I got here first.

    I would pay $35. for it,

      it's the bavarian army medal (1905) or jubilee medal (1911)Prinzregent Luitpold - look at the backside....

        The ribbon shown in the scan above does not belong with that medal. Neither a 1905 (long text on back) or 1911 (crown with 1905 YES "1905") Luipold Bavarian army jubilee medal is worth that price without a (red with very narrow green edge stripes)ribbon.

        They are common and can be found with ribbons or on medal bars more reasonably.
